"Our strategy in Genome Informatics" (November 17, 2000)
A strategy for promoting the advancement of genome informatics was proposed based on three perspectives: development of human resources, construction of databases, and development of technologies for information analysis.
August 2005 Establishment of a working group on strategy for database preparation, Life-Science Committee, Subdivision on Research Planning and Evaluation, Council for Science and Technology. (August 17, 2005)
"Appropriate state of the strategy for database preparation for life science in Japan" (May 17, 2006)
Establishment of the Strategy Committee, construction of a portal site, development of technologies for database integration, and development of human resources were recommended as urgent issues to be addressed.
April 2006 "Integrated DB project in the Life Sciences (as of Integrated DB project)" was initiated as a 5-year project under the Research Organization of Information and Systems (ROIS). (April 1, 2006)

It was recommended that integrated operation of the Database Center for Life Science (DBCLS) and the Institute for Bioinformatics Research and Development (BIRD) be conducted by a new organization established within JST.

February 2017 Operation launch of the "NBDC Group Sharing DatabaseOnly in Japanese"
March 2017 The NBDC released the business evaluation report "Business evaluation report on Life Science Database Integration Project (FY 2011 to FY 2016) (195 KB)Only in Japanese" prepared by external evaluation committee members.
The report was created for the purpose of verifying the situation of business promotion implemented up to that point in order to improve business promotion by the NBDC going forward.
March 2017 The NBDC Steering Committee released "How Bioscience Database Center should function in the future (proposal) (697 KB)Only in Japanese" as a proposal on the future management of the NBDC.
Summary of discussions held on the specific necessary measures in order to reflect the business evaluation results on future management, and keep up with the changes in the environment and demands which occurred after the foundation of the center.

*It presented the intention to develop a data coordination platform to address Society 5.0 through development of inter-field data coordination platforms and data coordination platforms in each field.
March 2022 The NBDC released the FY2017-2021 report (3.0MB)Only in Japanese and the report-outline (2.1MB)Only in Japanese on Life Science Database Integration Project.
The NBDC also released the "Evaluation report on Life Science Database Integration Project (FY 2017-2021) (0.8MB)Only in Japanese ".
This evaluation was conducted by external experts for verifying the 5-year progress since the previous evaluation (March 2017).
